How to see what a transfer really costs

The fee on the screen is not all you pay. Most providers give you an exchange rate below the mid-market rate and keep the difference, and that difference never appears on the fee line, although it comes out of what arrives.

So compare on the amount the recipient actually receives, not on the fee alone. Ask more than one provider for a quote on the same amount at the same time, because rates move during the day.
